As an organizer and educational provider, we also organize and conduct boat tours on the Isar in the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen. We voluntarily commit to adhering to the stated standards, rules of conduct, and agreements:
  • For commercial events, we generally use the period between May 1st and October 15th of each year. In the event of sufficiently high water levels (Bad Tölz power plant at least 20 m³/s discharge), different times may apply.
  • We pay particular attention to the need for regeneration of flora and fauna during the winter months.
  • We respect the regulations that apply to nature reserves and landscape protection areas; in particular, we observe bird protection closures on gravel banks and the prohibition of entering islands and reed zones. We explain the special features and beauties of the Isar floodplains to our participants and also consider the fish population.
  • We use the existing entry and exit points.
  • We exclusively employ boat guides whom we train according to the training standards of, for example, the German Canoe Association (DKV), BVkanu e.V., or the International Rafting Federation (IRF).
  • We document our boat guides’ participation in qualified training.
  • All participants receive safety equipment that meets the standards (life vest and helmet for everyone; rescue equipment for boat guides) and are instructed in a detailed safety briefing before the start of the trip, with information on navigation and rules of conduct. We prohibit obviously intoxicated persons from participating in boat trips.
  • We ensure that all participants behave appropriately for the natural environment (avoiding noise; taking all trash with them, absolutely no fires, respectful interaction with fishermen, nature observers, and other people). We generally do not use glass bottles.
  • For the safety of participants, we do not conduct boat trips if reporting level 1 (Flood Information Service; www.hnd.bayern.de) is reached.
  • We actively participate in the preservation of the Isar natural area and are happy to take part in the annual RAMADAMA campaign (usually early October) within the scope of our personnel resources:

Ramadama, Isar section Lenggries – Bad Tölz, Autumn 2019

  • We work closely with the Isar Rangers, the Nature Conservation Watch, the regional supervisors of the LBV, and representatives of the fishing associations; we help to inform visitors to the protected areas about the usage and behavioral rules.
  • For guided tours, environmental education and the ecology of this special natural area play a central role.

The district is requested, within the framework of the hotspot project: “Alpine River Landscapes – Living Diversity from Ammersee to Zugspitze,” to ensure that information boards with relevant notices are installed at the entry and exit points and to summarize these in a flyer for guests.
