Event

The school trip rafting – between Lenggries and Bad Tölz on the Isar – promotes tolerance, mutual respect and social skills between students and teachers. Additionally, the experience strengthens self-confidence through positive experiences.

Students and teachers can expect a summery and varied school trip on an exciting section of Germany’s last wild river. We look forward to welcoming you aboard our boats!

At the start of the school trip we meet at Sport-Piraten Camp in Lenggries. After being welcomed by our guides, students are introduced to the day’s program and equipment (wetsuit, life jacket, helmet and paddle).

Then we walk together to the entry point at the nearby Isar. After a briefing on safety and environmental topics as well as proper paddling technique, we’re ready to go!

Ahead of you are approx. 12 kilometers of wet fun on crystal-clear water. The rafting takes us along the foothills of the Alps through beautiful floodplain landscape to the end point in Bad Tölz.

We also use this event to draw students’ attention to the beauty and sensitivity of nature: they learn what it means to move responsibly in this environment – because we cherish the Isar with all our hearts! Afterwards we bring everyone back safely to our camp in Lenggries.

FAQ

Why do a school trip rafting?

Our school trip rafting is ideal for your fun, safe and well-organized school outing! From welcome to farewell, responsibility for the students can be handed over to our trained guides. Our school trip rafting uses an inflatable boat for up to 11 students per boat to navigate Germany’s last wild river (the Isar). We can take a maximum of 120 students on the water at the same time. The Isar in Bavaria offers all students ideal conditions for getting started in this action-packed and refreshing water sport. Each student gets a wetsuit, helmet, safety vest and paddle and sits on the side tubes of the boat, while the guide steers from the stern with a slightly larger paddle and gives timed commands. In rafting, it’s important that everyone executes the guide’s commands simultaneously. Therefore, the school trip rafting is the perfect opportunity for students to learn to work together and further develop their teamwork skills. This adventure gives students the chance to have a completely new experience and create memories for life.
